Supporting food security through localization in Eastern Ukraine

The project was aimed at providing humanitarian aid to residents of frontline communities in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions. The primary goal of the initiative was to supply food to vulnerable groups, including elderly people living alone, individuals with disabilities, female-headed households, and residents of remote rural areas with no access to retail infrastructure.

Geography and implementation period

The project was implemented across two regions in the following communities:

Zaporizhzhia region:

Vasylivka, Vozdvyzhivka, Komyshuvakha, Orikhiv, Preobrazhenka, Tavriiske, Malynivka, Mykhailo-Lukasheve, Malatokmachka, Novooleksandrivka, Dolynske, Pavlivka, Novomykolaivka, Matviivka, Stepne, Bilenke, Stepnohirsk, and Huliaipole territorial communities.

Kherson region:

Komyshany and Bilozerka territorial communities.

Key results

As part of the project implementation:

humanitarian aid (food supplies) was provided to 13,066 households;
support was provided to individuals who had no source of income and were dependent on humanitarian or government assistance.
